Using the Bakkt® App 4-digit PIN Sign-In Feature
This article provides an overview of the 4-digit PIN security feature offered within the Bakkt App.
This feature provides Bakkt App users with an additional level of security and a faster authentication method. You may use your 4-digit PIN in lieu of entering your password.
How to Enable and Disable the 4-digit PIN
During the account setup process, you will have the opportunity to create a 4-digit PIN. If you select the Skip This For Now option, you will be able to set up your PIN by taking the following steps:
1. Select More from the menu at the bottom of your screen.
2. Select Settings.
3. Click on Security.
4. Toggle the 4-digit PIN on. You will see a green button once you have enabled this feature.
5. Create a 4-digit PIN.
6. To confirm your PIN, re-enter the four digits when prompted to do so.
Enable PIN During Sign-In
If the option to Create a PIN is enabled during sign-in, you will be prompted to do so right after you are signed into the app.
How to Change your PIN
To change your 4-digit PIN number, you must first turn off the feature by navigating to the Security page within Settings. You will then be prompted to enter your password to confirm that you would like to disable this feature. Once it is turned off, turn it back on to re-create a new PIN.
If five unsuccessful attempts of entering your 4-digit pin occur, you are directed to sign in using the email address and password you created during the signup process. Once signed in, you will be prompted to reset your PIN.
If you have forgotten your 4-digit PIN, click on the Forgot your 4-digit PIN? prompt in the bottom left portion of the sign-in screen. After clicking on this option, a screen requesting that you enter your email/phone number and password will appear. After correctly filling in these fields, you will then be prompted to create and confirm a new 4-digit PIN.
