Using the Bakkt® App 4-digit PIN Sign-In Feature
This article provides an overview of the 4-digit PIN security feature that is offered within the Bakkt App.
The Bakkt App provides an additional level of security for users with the 4-digit PIN feature. This is an optional feature that requires the creation of a 4-digit PIN that is used to sign into the app and when making certain account changes in lieu of entering a password.
How to Enable and Disable the 4-digit PIN
During the account setup process, you will have the opportunity to create a 4-digit PIN. If you select the Skip This For Now option, you will be able to set up your PIN by taking the following steps:
Select More from the menu at the bottom of your screen.
2. Select Settings.
3. Click on Security.
4. Toggle the 4-digit PIN on. You will see the green button once you have enabled this feature.
5. Enter a 4-digit PIN.
6. To confirm your PIN, re-enter the four digits when prompted to do so.
How to Change your PIN
To change your 4-digit PIN, you must first turn off the feature by navigating to the Security page within Settings. You will then be prompted to enter your password to confirm that you would like to disable the 4-digit PIN feature. Once the feature is off, turn it back on to re-create a new PIN number.
If you make five unsuccessful attempts when entering your 4-digit pin, you are directed to sign in using the email address and password you created during the signup process. Once signed in, you will be prompted to reset your PIN.
If you have forgotten your 4-digit PIN, click on the Forgot your 4-digit PIN? prompt in the bottom left portion of your screen. After clicking on this option, a screen requesting that you enter your email/phone number and password will appear. After correctly filling in these fields, you will then be prompted to create and confirm a new 4-digit PIN.
